In accordance with Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, Vernon’s Annotated Civil Statutes, Section 31, notice is hereby given to the public that the MILL CREEK WATER SUPPLY CORPORATION shall hold a Special Membership meeting following the 12pm HOA meeting on the 18th of May 2024, at 11036 Oak Forest Dr, Plantersville, Texas, 77363. The Board may take action on any of the items posted below. Action cannot be taken on individual citizen or customer communications or Board member items unless the matter was continued from a previous meeting or is individually listed below. The Corporation provides unrestricted access for the disabled.
The Board of Directors may go into executive session pursuant to the Texas Open Meetings Act, codified as Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Sections 551.071 551.072, 551.074 and/or 551.076 at any time during the meeting.

Item 1. Open Meeting, Establish Quorum
Item 2. Consideration of Todd Mission’s offer to purchase part of Mill Creek Water Supply Corporation’s public drinking water system facilities located within the boundaries of Todd Mission, TX, and possible partial acquisition of CCN service area rights.
Item 3. Exploration of potential membership in TRWA (Texas Rural Water Association).
Item 4. Exploration of expanding the board by at least 2 separate positions which would include amending the current by-laws to include but not be limited to secretary, a community liaison between the board, MCWS membership and Mill Creek HOA; and board member-at-large.
Item 5. Special Meeting of Directors, if needed.
Item 6. Misc. items, if any.

Need to start planning ahead, as there is a HOA meeting upcoming!
When: Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 12:00 noon
Where: Mill Creek Estates Water Bldg (located at the main entrance of MCE off of Oak Forest Dr.) 11036 Oak Forest Dr., Plantersville, TX 77363
Things to note:
The HOA should be posting some simple signs around the entrances and office fence for the meeting as well. This should help for those that may not look at this site often. I will also post something about the same in the Nextdoor app.

In the next couple weeks there will be notices going out about an HOA meeting and some changes to HOA costs.
Initial discussions look like:
$49/yr for under 1 acre
$99/yr for over 1 acre
Reasoning for the increase in costs is to deal with collection efforts for many fee non-payment, among other things. More will be discussed in the meeting upcoming.

For the longest time our addresses were considered Holly Hill for some reason on Nextdoor. I finally got Nextdoor to seperate our boundaries, and create a "Mill Creek Estates" Nextdoor zone. This is great news for those that want to talk to other neighbors, sell something, advertise a yard sale, or just cyber-squat if you want. Nextdoor is avaiable on Android, Apple, Windows, and just connecting to and logging on as a website. I have used it in previous neighborhoods with good results mainly, there are always some folks that are never happy, but its a good place to get other neighbors in the community together or announce something. You don't have to be a techy to use it, it is like a social media app, except specific for your neighborhood, or surrounding neighborhoods.

I saw a post on Nextdoor asking about Grimes county burn ban, and if still in effect. According to Grimes County site, the Ban was lifted today. Figured I would pass it along since it is getting cooler.

We all know it has been super hot, and there have been a ton of burn bans around us. Yesterday Grimes county joined the other counties in the Burn Ban. Not sure why anyone would want a fire during these hot days, I know I don't even want to be outside long. Just be aware of the burn ban, and notify local authorities if you observe anyone burning right now for the safety of the community.

Recieved sad news today. Many of you may know Mr. Cox, he passed this morning. Carri Cox gave permission to post it to the HOA website, and said that the funeral will more than likely be on Monday. If we recieve the arrangement information, I will update this post. We send our condolences to the Cox family.

Alright neighborhood... we are getting there. I have acquired some more information about the board, as well as added some information to be consumed by residents.

Just a simple introduction of a website we can use for our neighborhood to list out contact information, utilities, and HOA type things.
Not really going to be an open forum for discussions, as we want to keep it simple with very little changes... discussions should be done on the NextDoor application where we are creating a Neighborhood for Mill Creek Estates (Plantersville) as well...
